Specific Instructions:

Before implementing this protocol, it is important to first determine the participant’s primary guardian, ensure that the child has contact with the mother when assessing the mother’s communication, and that the child has contact with the father when assessing the father’s communication. Although the original protocol was implemented with the child’s mother, the Working Group agrees that this protocol can be administered to the primary guardian who lives with the child. The protocol text should be adjusted accordingly to denote the relationship of the primary guardian.
